Scatec is a renewable power producer, which develops, builds, owns and operates solar plants across emerging markets. The company was founded in 2007 and has today 1.9 GW of solar capacity in operations and under construction across 18 countries globally. The company is listen on the Oslo Stock Exchange, with headquarters in Oslo, Norway.

The Scatec model incorporates every project into a separete entity, where Scatec typically is the majority owner with local companies and/or Development Banks partnering on the project. Through partnering with players with local experience and relationships, Scatec is able to mitigate some of the emerging market risk.

In October 2020, the company announced the acquisition of SN Power, a hydropower producer with a portfolio of 3.3 GW of plants. In November, SN Power acquired a 39 MW wind farm in Vietnam. These transactions marked the first steps in a strategy towards becoming a global, large-scale player within solar, hydro, wind and storage.
