Presentation
Aker Carbon Capture is a newly listed company that delivers carbon capture, utilization and storage solutions (CCUS). The company has a long-track record within the industry and delivered the solution at Sleipner, the world's first offshore carbon capture facility, in 1996. In 2020, it was spun out of Aker Solutions and listed on Euronext Growth in August 2020, following a NOK 500m capital raise. Aker Solutions will be an alliance partner and a preferred supplier to the company. Aker ASA owns 51% of Aker Carbon Capture through its wholly owned subsidiary Aker Horizons. The company is headquartered in Oslo, Norway.

Aker Carbon Capture has developed solutions, services and technologies that cover the entire CCUS value chain, but it focuses mainly on the capture phase. Its proprietary carbon capture technology uses a mixture of water and an organic amine solvent to absorb the CO2. The solution has a strong capture rate, improved energy efficiency and best-in-class HSE characteristics. The technology can be applied in a range of industries, including cement, waste-to-energy, blue hydrogen and oil and gas.

The company is involved in a number of projects ranging from concept studies to FEED contracts. Its key awards however include the pioneering Norcem project, a part of the Norwegian government's Longship project which will be the first commercial project coveritng the full value-chain. In addition, ACC will deliver a modular capture plant at the Twence waste-to-energy plant in the Netherlands.
