Odfjell Oceanwind is a Norwegian floating offshore wind specialist that combines Odfjell’s 50 years of maritime tradition and experience in designing, building and operating floating units in harsh environments with Oceanwind’s 20 years of experience in developing floating offshore wind solutions. Odfjell Oceanwind was developed to accelerate floating offshore wind through electrification of Oil & Gas installations on the Norwegian continental shelf and has offices in Bergen, Stavanger and Oslo.

The company was founded as Oceanwind in 2019 by Jon Erik Borgen, Eystein Borgen and Geirmund Aasbø, a group of Norwegian floating wind pioneers with legacy back to the floating wind specialist Sway that developed the first floating wind spar designs in the early 2000’s. In 2020, Odfjell invested in Oceanwind and renamed it Odfjell Oceanwind. In early 2021, the second largest Nordic operator of onshore wind, Aneo (former Trønderenergi), and the leading Norwegian investor Blystad Group became shareholders.
