Encavis is a leading independent power producer (IPP) in the European renewables sector, with a portfolio comprising both solar and wind power parks. Currently, the company has an installed capacity of >4.1 GW distributed over 325 projects, with 1.8 GW in own assets. Encavis’ core business is the acquisition of ready-to-build, turnkey-projects or existing parks and subsequently operate them. The company is the result of a merger between Capital Stage and CHORUS Clean Energy, completed in 2017. Encavis is headquartered in Hamburg, Germany, and is listed on the MDAX on the German stock exchange.

Encavis’ business model is geared towards taking limited risks, as the company does not participate in the development phase of the projects. In order to reduce the risk structure of its investment, the company focuses on ready-to-build turnkey projects or on already grid connected parks. While in the past, the parks featured a FiT contract, the new projects are increasingly based on PPAs. In both cases, Encavis is guaranteed secured revenues and cash flows over a period of at least 10 years or longer.
