As a wholly owned subsidiary of the RWE Group, RWE Renewables boasts resources and expertise covering the entire value chain of onshore solar and wind energy, from development and construction through to the operation of power plants. The company invests in large-scale solar projects and supports electricity generators, power plant operators and other stakeholders during the construction and operation of new projects. RWE Renewables focuses on large industrial projects for onshore wind, battery storage and solar thermal energy.

The core markets in Europe and Australia are at the heart of the company’s strategy. Here, RWE has risen up to become the key player in renewable energies. The company is one of the world’s largest electricity producers in the two forward-looking fields of wind power and solar power. With an extensive investment and growth strategy, “Growing Green”, the company will expand its powerful, green generation capacity to 50GW internationally by 2030. RWE is investing more than EUR 50bn gross for this purpose in this decade.

The company is already operating one of Europe’s largest onshore wind farms in Sweden, as well as the largest solar power plant in Australia. To respond more effectively to the growing competition and speed in international markets, RWE Renewables has separated up the business segments. The entire global offshore segment is now covered by the independent subsidiary, RWE Offshore Wind GmbH.
