The HIMSS Nordic Community invites you to participate in a discussion on how to improve the sector process and collaboration in the healthcare systems. All Nordic countries are in the process of reshaping the landscape of health care delivery. The demographic development forces the healthcare systems to rebalance the responsibilities between primary and secondary care, giving the primary care an increasing number of task and focusing on home hospitalisation. This mega trend means that the Nordic healthcare systems are facing a major change management process. The CCMM model is a systematic and structure tool to support for process and prioritisation and collaboration between all stakeholder in a patient’s journey across sectors and institutions in healthcare systems

Health literacy is the ability to understand and use health information, and developing it early in life helps children feel more confident and involved in their own care. Young children often struggle to understand medical procedures, which can increase fear and anxiety. Digital games designed for learning—offer an engaging and child-friendly way to explain health concepts. This project describes the co-design of an interactive educational game for preschool children who are undergoing anesthesia for medical procedures. The game explains what to expect and teaches simple coping strategies to help children manage stress. It was developed through workshops with children, interviews with parents and healthcare professionals, and collaboration across disciplines. The game was tested in healthcare settings in two Nordic countries and showed positive results in terms of usability and acceptance. Early findings suggest it may help reduce children’s anxiety. The game was also successfully adapted and tested in hospitals in Nepal, demonstrating its potential for global use.

Healthcare systems across Europe are rich in innovation – yet only a fraction of solutions ever reach large-scale implementation. The challenge is rarely the innovation itself, but the structures surrounding it: clinical validation pathways, procurement models, collaboration frameworks, and system readiness. In this session, we bring together representatives from Sahlgrenska University Hospital, DigitalHealth4All, PrecisEU, and Sahlgrenska Science Park – spanning frontline healthcare, European innovation initiatives, and ecosystem enablers – to explore how we move beyond pilots and build the structures that allow health innovation to scale. Through examples from European initiatives such as PrecisEU and DigitalHealth4All, the discussion will focus on: the role of hospitals as innovation partnerswhy validation and implementation must acceleratehow European collaboration can unlock system barriershow ecosystem actors help bridge the gap between innovators and healthcare If we want to turn innovation into real impact in healthcare, the systems enabling scale must evolve.Arranged by CO-AX Sahlgrenska Science Park
