This panel will present an inquiry into the shaping and development of the University of Gothenburg Centre for Person-centred Care (GPCC), a research centre that is a result from a national governmental strategic research initiative. First, an overview of the result will be presented by Joakim Öhlén, Emma Forsgren and Chatarina Löfqvist. To explore the shaping and development of the centre three types of inquiries were performed. First a document analysis of internally produced documents with the centre's development timeline and key milestones. Then a document analysis of external documents reflecting i) the national research discourse as related to person-centred care and ii) bibliometric analyses of the publications from the centre. Finally, the inquiry also included the story of the GPCC as told by key representatives in individual interviews. Following the presentations of these results, there will be a discussion in between the presenters and professor Brendan McCormack and professor Hilde Verbeek who, as critical friends, have been invited by the team to share some reflections of the draft manuscript of the inquiry.
