I am a standards expert and passionate proponent of "standards-based interoperability" in the field of Health IT. I am active in several standardization organizations at national and international level, in particular in the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) initiative.

In my professional life I contributed to the European epSOS project and to the Austrian eHealth Infrastructure project (ELGA). Furthermore, I participate the Global Digital Health Partnership on behalf of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Social affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection.

Internationally I was involved in various interoperability projects such as the Swiss Electronic Patient Dossier, the Greek National eHealth Information Framework project and in the promotion of IHE in the Asia-Pacific region in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank.
