Talos Energy is a US offshore E&P company with a production base of ~72k boepd. The company’s production stems from several key hubs in the US Gulf of Mexico with several underlying producing fields. Key shareholders include Riverstone (31%) and Apollo mgmt. (24%) which has been invested since foundation in 2012.

The management has a strong track record and the company focuses on asset management, in-field drilling, exploitation and some exploration. M&A has also been crucial in building the company to where it is today. Talos has 178 mmboe of 1P reserves of which 47% is in production, 29% is developed but not in production and 24% is undeveloped.

In addition to its US portfolio, Talos also has the Zama discovery offshore Mexico, with FID targeted in second half of 2021. This discovery is expected to form the backbone of the company's future production growth.
