Presentation
Quantafuel is a Norwegian company producing synthetic fuels and chemical products based on non-recyclable plastic waste. The company is currently about to commence operations at Europe’s first plastic-to-liquid plant in Skive, Denmark, which will have a capacity to convert 18,000 tons of plastic waste per year. Quantafuel was listed on the Oslo Merkur Market in February 2020.Quantafuel was founded in 2014 by a group of entrepreneurs with several decades of experience from the energy sector. The company has developed a method for converting non-recyclable plastic waste into synthetic fuels and chemical products in a manner which is more effective and environmentally friendly compared to alternative methods. The company’s business model is to build, own and operate Power-to-Liquids (PtL) plants. These PtL plants will primarily be operated in JV structures with a partner owning up to 50%. The plant under construction in Skive will be operated in cooperation with Vitol. Quantafuel is also planning to increase its activities in Denmark, and has identified location and is performing engineering for a plant with a capacity of 80,000 tons plastic waste per year.
