IHS Markit provides information, analytics and solutions across a wide set of capital-intensive industries to a range of customers in the business, finance and government sectors. The company was founded in 1959 but became what it is today when IHS and Markit merged in 2016. IHS Markit is headquartered in London but listed on the New York Stock Exchange and has a market capitalization of USD 32bn.

IHS Markit has more than 5,000 employees working to serve 50,000 clients in over 140 countries. Among others, these include 80% of the Fortune Global 500 and 94 of the largest 100 corporations in the US. The company guides revenue for 2020 at ~4.3bn with an adj. EBITDA margin of ~43%. The largest segment in IHS Markit is Financial Services (~40%), followed by Transportation (~30%), Resources (~20%), and Consolidated Markets and Solutions (~10%).
