Presentation
Dolphin Drilling is a harsh environment-focused offshore drilling contractor who owns three legacy semi-submersibles and one high-spec UDW drillship. The company is the result of the transfer of the rigs from bankrupt Dolphin Drilling ASA, previously Fred. Olsen Energy, in 2019 to the new holding company Dolphin Drilling Holdings Limited owned by the secured lenders. The company has its headquarters in Aberdeen, Scotland.

The company is currently marketing the three semi-submersibles Bideford Dolphin, Borgland Dolphin and Blackford Dolphin for contract opportunities. Borgland Dolphin is currently drilling one firm well in 2020 and one firm and two optional wells in 2021 for Wellesley Petroleum on the NCS. Recently, Blackford was awarded a 15-month long contract with Pemex in Mexico scheduled to commence in October 2020. The company has also been awarded a two-well contract with i3 Energy on the UK side for either Borgland Dolphin or Blackford Dolphin this year. The 2014-built UDW drillship Bolette Dolphin is being held for sale.
