Dril-Quip is a manufacturer of offshore drilling and production equipment, with a strong position in deepwater and harsh environment applications. The company also provides associated services for its clients. Dril-Quip was founded in 1981 and is headquartered in Houston, Texas. It was listed on New York Stock Exchange in 1997.

The company has three geographical segments; Western Hemisphere with headquarters in Houston, Eastern Hemisphere with headquarters in Aberdeen, Scotland and Asia-Pacific with headquarters in Singapore. Each segment sells similar products and services. In addition, it has major manufacturing facilities in all three regional headquarters, as well as in Macae, Brazil. Dril-Quip has developed its broad line of subsea, surface and offshore rig equipment primarily through internal product development efforts. Western Hemisphere has historically been the most important segment, contributing with ~50-60% of total revenues. With regards to products and services, products, and particularly subsea products, make up most of the revenues, while services provide a more stable income source.
