Presentation
The Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) is the international trade association for the wind power industry. The members of the association represent more than 1,500 companies, organizations and institutions in more than 80 countries, including manufacturers, developers, component suppliers, research institutes, national associations and electricity providers. GWEC was established in 2005 and has offices in Brussels, Belgium and Singapore.

GWEC’s mandate from its members is to communicate the benefits of wind power to national governments, policy makers and international institutions. The association works with governments to give them transparent information about the benefits and potential of wind power, enabling them to make informed decisions about energy policies that can add clean power to the energy mix.
