Kongsberg Gruppen is an international technology group which engages in delivery of technology systems and solutions to clients within the oil & gas industry, merchant marine, defence, and aerospace. It is divided into three business areas; Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (KDA), Kongsberg Maritime (KM) and Kongsberg Digital (KDI). Its history dates back to 1814, and the company has been listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange since 1993 with the Norwegian state as majority shareholder (~50%). Today, Kongsberg Gruppen has a market capitalization of NOK ~24bn, and a net cash position of NOK 5.1bn as of Q2’20.

2019 proved to be an eventful year for the company, with two larger acquisitions completed and a record-high order intake. Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace also signed the single largest contract in the company’s history, for the NASAMS air system, worth NOK 5.6bn. As of Q2’20, the total order backlog stood at NOK 32.9bn, slightly down from all-time high in Q3’19 at NOK 34.2bn.
