The major source of funding for the National Dental PBRN, is the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR), part of the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH). Six regional administrative nodes, spread across the country, provide the necessary infrastructure to conduct clinical research in practitioner’s offices, across all US states and territories. Currently, (January, 2019), the network has 6925 members (4195 dentists, 1864 hygienists and 866 non –practitioners). Since 2005 the network has implemented 39 national studies, (29 clinical and 10 survey studies). 81% of member dentists have completing at least one survey study and 21% have completed at least 1 clinical study. This presentation will explore the engagement of practitioners in research and bringing practitioners and researchers together.
