Company Profile
Bactiguard is a Swedish medical device company developing and supplying infection prevention solutions which reduce the risk of healthcare associated infections and the use of antibiotics. Their technology is based on a very thin noble metal alloy coating, preventing bacterial adhesion and biofilm formation on medical devices. It has been tested in more than 40 clinical studies including 100,000 patients. The company’s product offering spans across several different applications, including urology, intensive care, wound management, disinfection, and implants. They have several licensing agreements with companies that apply Bactiguard’s technology to their own products.

Recent highlights
In July, Bactiguard announced that, together with their development partner Zimmer Biomet, they launched the ZNN Bactiguard implants in select EMEA countries. Moreover, further clinical studies are being initiated in several counties to gather additional evidence that ZNN Bactiguard implants reduce postoperative infections, validating the technology. Within the wound care product area the company has recently established new partnerships with Apotek Hjärtat, Schülke and Farmaban, for distribution in Sweden, Germany and Spain respectively. Finally, the company recently launched an extension of their wound care products directed for veterinary use.

Outlook
The focus of the company is to roll-out ZNN Bactiguard in EMEA, while continuing to prepare US and RoW launch. Furthermore, Bactiguard plans to expand their portfolio and application areas and strengthen the team.
