Liz Chan is a Reader in Veterinary Education, and Course Director on the Certificate, Diploma and MSc in Veterinary Education at the Royal Veterinary College. She graduated from Cambridge University in 2001, obtained her American Diploma in Veterinary Anesthesiology while at Tufts University in 2005, and her PhD from King’s College London in 2018, studying the identity development of new veterinarians. From 2013 to 2019 she was the subject lead for Professional Studies in the BVetMed degree, in which she reoriented the program towards reflection and identity development, as well as formalising the processes of professional reasoning: subjects on which she has several publications. She is particularly interested in the relationship between identity and wellbeing, and how this informs veterinarians' professional development.
