In the recent years, the situation of LGBTQAI+ community in Poland has worsened as conservative government is openly encouraging homophobic responses from the public.  

Within RFSL there is an ongoing process defining a new vision to bring the organisation into the future.  

[Event language: English]A roundtable discussion focusing on the topics of debunking myths such as:  "LGBTI and religion are in opposition", "LGBTI rights are a Western import", "LGBTI rights are unAfrican" and the need for greater global coordination in the face of rising conservative/fundamentalist groups targeting rainbow families, trans folks and women amongst others.

Emma Gunterberg Sachs from West Pride talks about the situation for LGBTQI people in Sweden and presents a new method to combat homo-, bi-, and transphobia, as a response to conversions camps.

Listen and gain a more in-depth awareness from the experts and researchers on the state of LGBTQ+ refugee in the global south host country and the different perspectives on why global actor needs to prioritize LGBTQ+ asylum case to bring them to the safety.This session aims to provide an understanding of the state of LGBTQIA+ refugees who are forced to seek refuge in the global south and why we need to prioritize LGBTQIA+ asylum cases.

In the final session in Track 2 you will have the opportunity to listen as experts provide insight into their different fields of speciality. We have some medical considerations, aspects of integration into the host country and also matters of capacity building with regards to organisations who work in this field.

Welcome to this Roundtable discussion among political actors and experts in the field, including those with lived experience. With a broad focus of accountability, this session will consider what we can expect from governments and key stakeholders to support LGBTQIA+ refugees and forcibly displaced people at the different parts of the process, whether that be resettlement or reintegration.
