SOGICA: Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Claims of Asylum - A European Human Rights Challenge
SOGICA was a comparative research project funded by the European Research Council (ERC) exploring the social and legal experiences of asylum seekers across Europe claiming international protection on the basis of their sexual orientation or gender identity (SOGI). Anbid Zaman, Member of the Advisory Board to SOGICA will present the research findings from Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom and the final recommendations for improving the lives of queer refugees in Europe. Aries Marsha Ennis, a research participant will reflect on and share her lived experiences of struggles and joys being a Jamaican black lesbian migrant mother in Germany.
