Zealand Pharma is a Danish biotechnology company focused on the discovery and development of peptide-based medicines for gastrointestinal, metabolic and other specialty diseases. More than 10 drug candidates have advanced into clinical development, of which two have reached the market and three candidates are in late-stage development. The company also has license collaborations with Boehringer Ingelheim and AstraZeneca to develop peptide investigational agents.

Recent highlights
In H1 2022, the revenue amounted to DKK 43.5M / USD 6.1M. In May, Zealand announced an asset purchase agreement with MannKind Corporation for V-Go® insulin delivery device, including 10M USD upfront payment to Zealand and sales-based milestones. In May, Zealand announced positive results from Ph3 Dasiglucagon for paediatric congenital hyperinsulinism (CHI), which met its primary endpoint by reducing the requirement for IV glucose by 55% compared to placebo. Together with data from a previous Ph3 study in older children with CHI, NDA submission is anticipated by end of 2022. In June, Zealand presented data of Ph1 Dapiglutide trial for obesity, showing acceptable safety, dose-dependent weight loss of up to 4.3% after 4 weeks of treatment, and data-supported once-weekly dosing, and further announced Dapiglutide for obesity to move into Ph2.

Outlook
Following the positive results of Ph3 Dasiglucagon in CHI, Zealand Pharma aims to submit the NDA by the end of 2022. The company also aims to present Glepaglutide Ph3 trial results in short bowel syndrome, BI 456906 Ph2 trial results in diabetes, and ZP8396 Amylin analogue Ph1 SAD update in obesity in 2022.
