Pyrum Innovations AG is a German company that recycle end-of-life tires to valuable end-products; thermolysis oil, recovered carbon black and thermolysis gas. The company operates one of the most advanced tire recycling plants in Europe, located in Dillingen, Germany. Currently, the plant has a capacity of ~5,000 tons end-of-life tires per year and has been running commercially since May 2020, delivering oil to its offtake-partner and investor, BASF.

Since inception in 2008, the company has developed a proprietary thermolysis reactor technology and optimized the plant design for serial production. Pyrum is now specialized in engineering, development, construction and operations of the plants and will roll-out new capacity across Europe in collaboration with interested parties.

In addition, Pyrum has further R&D projects within carbon fiber reinforced plastic recycling, hydrogen production and PUR recycling. The company is also collaborating with Michelin on the EU Horizon BlackCycle Project, a key tire recycling project which aims to develop and improve a full value chain that will exploit recycling of end-of-life tires to produce high-technical second-hand raw materials without any waste of resources.
