Falck Renewables is a global player within renewable energy. The company designs, develops, builds, and manages projects, as well as energy management and downstream services for both energy producers and consumers. Its power plants are located mainly in Europe and the US. The company has origins back to 1906 when the Falck Group was founded and became a leading Italian steel producer. From the mid-70s, the company gradually shifted focus towards energy production and increasingly renewables from the 2000s, and Falck Renewables was formed in 2010 when all Falck Group’s renewables energy activities were consolidated with Actelios. The company is headquartered in Milan and listed on the Milan Stock Exchange.The company has four main business segments: Wind, Photovoltaic, Storage systems, and Biomass/Waste-to-Energy. Its wind segment comprises 1,063 MW of installed capacity in Italy, Spain, France, Sweden, Norway and the UK, and the company typically collaborate with local developers in the initial stages of the project. Falck Renewables has PPAs in place with major players in Europe. Photovolatics comprises 241 MW of installed solar power capacity in Italy, Spain and the US. Falck manages the plants and is currently working on development of new projects through JVs with leading international players. Storage systems comprises a 6.6 MWh battery storage system installed in the US. Lastly, Biomass and Waste-to-Energy includes 46 MW installed in Italy.
