Scatec is a renewable power producer which develops, builds, owns and operates solar plants across emerging markets. Founded in 2007, Scatec has secured a portfolio of gross 3.5 GW in operation and under construction across the world. The company is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange and headquartered in Oslo, Norway.

In October 2020, the company announced the acquisition of the hydropower producer SN Power, which acquired a 39 MW wind farm in Vietnam a month later. These transactions kickstarted the first steps of Scatec’s broadened strategy of becoming a global, large-scale player within solar, hydro, wind and storage.

The company is targeting a total 15 GW of gross capacity in operation and under construction by 2025, through partnering with players with local experience and relationships in markets positioned for future growth. As a result, the company aims to be awarded a large amount of capacity in India, Brazil and South Africa.
