Presentation
Vestas is a leading supplier of onshore and offshore wind turbines and a market leader for O&M services of wind turbines. The company is headquartered in Aarhus, Denmark and has history dating back to 1898. Vestas started within the wind energy industry in the late 1970s. As the technology developed, the company expanded globally the following decades and constructed its first offshore wind turbine in 1995. Vestas was listed in Copenhagen in 1998 and merged with the Danish wind turbine manufacturer NEG in 2004. In 2014, the company established MHI Vestas through a joint venture with Mitsubishi. MHI Vestas is solely focused on the offshore wind industry and is a leading supplier of offshore wind turbines.

Vestas has installed a total capacity of 140 GW across 85 countries, in addition to ~50,300 wind turbines under active service contracts, equivalent to ~119 GW. This represents more than 1.5x its closest competitor. The company will also benefit from its data library, as big data is becoming increasingly important in development of the next generation of wind turbines and O&M strategies. Vestas targets carbon neutrality by 2030 and production of zero-waste wind turbines by 2040. As a result, the company has received recognition for its contribution to accelerate the green energy transition through being a member of several green indexes.
